The Charlotte Hornets revealed their new Association and Icon Edition uniforms for the team. The Hornets new unis see the return of the double pinstripes, like the 1997-2002 eara uniform, but the new version features the stripes in the same color.
The new white Association Edition uniform features teal elements with subtle purple outlines and accents. Across the chest of the Association Edition jersey we see “Charlotte” in teal to match the numbers and the Hornets wordmark above the Jock Tag.
The new Icon Edition uniform comes in a teal colorway with white elements and purple accents. Hornets is spelled out across the chest of the Icon Edition jersey in white with white numbers.
The shorts for both uniforms feature the double stripes of the contrasting color on each side that leads to a cell pattern with the team’s secondary logo.
“I think we struck the right balance. Certainly, the double pinstripe was extremely popular in the uniforms that ran from 1997 to the early 2000’s. I think that’s the base. We wanted to have a streamlined, clean design and what that allows us to do is sustain the test of time. There’s a chance that this uniform may not be refreshed in five years. I really like the characteristics and the way we modernized it. It’s not clunky or heavy, but light and modern.” -Seth Bennett, the Hornets’ Senior VP of Consumer Engagement
