New Third Kit for Chelsea
Chelsea will hit the pitch in a new third kit for the 2019-20 season. The third kit draws its inspiration from the 1994-96 away jersey, on black. The jersey has a good amount of details that are nods to ’90s soccer. The jersey features a unique knit rising from the fabric of the shirt pattern, an old-school style squared-off collar and a retro Nike Futura logo. We see orange trim on the collar and sleeves pop against the black jersey, which has an embossed "CFC" pattern that runs diagonally across the jersey. "Chelsea FC" is printed across the neckline, above the Nike logo as well as on the club crest. The font, used is from ’90s match-day programs, to give another special feature to kit. To finish off the look Chelsea will wear bright-orange socks, which feature a Nike logo midway up the shin, with black shorts.
“You can see the ’90s influence in fashion at the moment, and I think the kit will appeal to pretty much everyone. Younger fans will like that it has a streetwear vibe and older fans will appreciate the sentimentality, remembering club legends who donned the famous jersey and their memories of going to games.” -Midfielder Mason Mount
We will see Chelsea debut the new third kit October 2, when their European campaign begins against Lille.
