New Kits for Washington Spirit
The Washington Spirit has set the stage for an exciting 2024 season with the unveiling of two groundbreaking kits designed by Nike. These kits, named the Blackout and Spotlight, not only reflect the club's commitment to innovation but also symbolize its journey toward becoming a global sports organization.
The primary set for the upcoming season, the Blackout kit draws inspiration from the iconic columns and architecture of the DC metropolitan region. The tonal grey and black graphics represent the convergence of communities within DC, Maryland, and Virginia. As the Spirit's main home kit, the Blackout uniform is set to dominate the Audi Field.
Introducing a vibrant yellow, the Spotlight kit embodies the club's trailblazing spirit and offers a glimpse into the Spirit's new brand positioning for 2025. This striking secondary kit will predominantly be worn during away games in the 2024 season. The inclusion of yellow signifies energy, innovation, and the club's commitment to standing out on and off the pitch.
Theresa McDonnell, Washington Spirit COO, expressed the inspiration behind the kits, stating, “These kits are inspired by Michele’s vision. They represent what we want to embody as a club on and off the pitch – trailblazing, energy, and dominating.”

The organization is on the brink of a complete rebrand scheduled for 2025. Last season, the club initiated the rebranding journey with a simplified look featuring black, white, and chrome. The addition of yellow in this season's kits serves as a teaser for what's to come in the much-anticipated 2025 rebrand.
