Cal Unveils New Football Uniforms for 2024

Cal’s Golden Bears are stepping into their first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference with a fresh new look. Cal revealed their revamped football uniforms, exciting fans with both the preservation of tradition and the introduction of new design elements.

While Cal has retained much of its traditional aesthetic, there are subtle yet significant updates to the uniforms. One of the most noticeable changes is the addition of the "ACC" logo on the front of the right shoulder, marking the team's new conference affiliation.

The uniforms no longer feature the Sather stripe, which was introduced seven years ago. Instead, it has been replaced with a stripe reminiscent of the one used during the Joe Roth era in the late 1970s. This nod to the past is complemented by block font lettering that matches the new stripe design, creating a cohesive and nostalgic look.

The Cal script logo has been repositioned to the neckline, which in turn brings the front numbers higher on the jersey. This change not only modernizes the appearance but also pays homage to past uniform styles, blending heritage with contemporary design.

The Golden Bears now have six uniform combinations to choose from, offering a variety of looks for different games. The combinations include white and blue jerseys, paired with white, blue, and gold pants. This mix-and-match approach allows for flexibility and visual interest throughout the season.

The iconic gold helmet from the Joe Roth era, featuring the block "C" logo on the side, remains a staple of Cal's football wardrobe. This helmet ties the new uniforms to the rich history of Cal football and ensures that a piece of the past remains a constant on the field.

As Cal enters the ACC, the updated uniforms symbolize a new chapter for the Golden Bears while honoring the legacy of the program. Fans can look forward to seeing their team in these striking new uniforms, ready to make their mark in a new conference.

The 2024 Smokey grey uniforms are a celebration of Tennessee's heritage. The tri-star logo, a symbol of the state's three Grand Divisions, is prominently displayed on both shoulders of the jersey. Purdue Unveil New Football Uniforms for 2024

the Purdue Boilermakers unveiled their new football uniforms for the 2024 season, and they have a distinctly nostalgic feel. The initial release includes just two different helmets, jerseys, and pants, but there may be more options revealed later.

The new uniforms evoke memories of the Joe Tiller era, a period of glory for the Boilermakers with Drew Brees at quarterback. However, there are notable updates to the design, particularly in the uniform striping.

There are two helmet options: gold and black. The gold helmet features a black/white/black striping pattern, with two thin gold stripes dividing the black and white. Both sides of the helmet have the classic italic “P” logo. The black helmet follows a similar design but with a gold/white/gold striping pattern, separated by thin black stripes. It also features the iconic “P” logo.

The home uniform pairs the gold helmets with black jerseys and gold pants, with striping that mirrors the helmet design. The jersey has thick block white numbers outlined in gold, a large “PURDUE” wordmark across the chest in gold, and gold/white/gold sleeve stripes with thin black separators. The TV numbers are white and placed on the shoulders.

The road uniform includes a black helmet, white jerseys, and pants COMBINATION. The design is identical to the home uniform, with thick black block numbers outlined in gold, “PURDUE” in black block font on the front, and black/gold/black sleeve stripes separated by thin white stripes. The back of the jersey matches the front design, with black TV numbers on the shoulders. The helmets feature a neck bumper reading “BOILER UP” and a warning label in the shape of an old coal-fired locomotive.

The unveiling of only two uniform combinations is a refreshing change. The full striping pattern on the helmet, jersey, and pants is a nod to tradition, contrasting with the trend of stripeless designs.

The updates are welcomed by fans who appreciate Purdue's traditional look. The gold/black/gold combination for home games and the black/white/white for road games are both well-received.

As head coach Mario Cristobal enters his third season with the Hurricanes, he is armed with his best roster yet and now, a classic look that harkens back to Miami’s glory days.

Miami revealed the updated uniforms showcasing several uniform combinations, including green, white, and orange jerseys paired with matching pants.

"Minor updates to a classic look," Miami's official football account noted on social media. The most noticeable change is the replacement of Miami's shield logo at the jersey's crest with the iconic "U" emblem, a symbol deeply ingrained in the team’s identity..

"I know what Miami is and should be," Cristobal told Late Kick host Josh Pate earlier this year. "I was a very fortunate young man to be a part of it. And so when you're at a distance and fortunate to have success at other places, it hurts you. It does. We're finally like, 'Enough is enough.' We're only on this Earth one time and just could not go to the grave without getting back to Miami and being a part of making Miami what it should always be."

Miami is not the first Adidas-affiliated school to unveil a new look this summer. Texas Tech also opted for a retro style, incorporating a varied stitch pattern with block lettering. This trend signifies a broader movement among Adidas schools to blend classic designs with modern athletic wear technology.

Boise State Unveils Refreshed Uniforms for 2024 Season

Boise State has revealed its refreshed uniforms for the 2024 season. Alongside the new uniform style, Boise State has also announced the color combinations fans can expect the football team to wear for each game this season, as well as the coordinated fan colors.

The Broncos will sport uniforms from the state-of-the-art Nike Vapor F.U.S.E (Field Utility Special Edition) line, which combines lightweight fabric technology and research-backed innovation with a precision fit for ultimate performance on the field. Players have already noticed a significant difference from last year’s uniforms, citing the improved lightweight fabric and snug fit.

Several updates have been made to the uniforms to enhance both aesthetics and functionality:

  • Increased Font Size: The "Boise State" font on the front of the jersey is slightly larger, approximately 1/8 inch.

  • Larger Script on Pants: The "Broncos" script on the pants is slightly larger and longer, approximately 1/8 inch.

  • Shoulder Stripe Adjustment: The shoulder stripes, previously applied at an angle, now surround the arm.

  • Color Reversal: The colors of the shoulder stripes have been reversed compared to the 2023 uniforms.

  • Shoulder Numbers: For the first time since 2006, jersey numbers have been added to the top of the shoulder.

The design elements from previous uniforms remain, including the blue collar featuring the wordmark “Blue Collar” on each jersey.

Boise State, with the sixth-best all-time winning percentage (.725) among all FBS programs, has based its refreshed uniform design on maintaining the consistency and tradition that have contributed to their impressive record. Since 2000, no western team has come close to matching Boise State’s 249 wins.

Jeramiah Dickey, Boise State's Athletic Director, emphasized the importance of retaining the traditional look established in their previous design, including the all-blue look and the Dark Mode concept. He also mentioned the possibility of using different combinations, including a retro throwback of blue helmets, orange jerseys, and blue pants reminiscent of the Dirk Koetter era. The team has worked closely with EA Sports to ensure the updated look and combinations will be available in the new College Football 25 game.

For the 2024 season, the Broncos have blue, orange, white, and black jerseys, pants, and helmets, creating 64 different possible combinations.
