The NHL All-star jerseys have been revealed. The look this year takes us back to the 90s with the retro design. The NHL have brought back the uniform style that was worn during the All-Star Games from 1994-1997. The reverse retro threads keep the logos and striping the same but have updated the colors giving the jerseys a refreshed look. We see the original Eastern and Western logos on the front of the jersey but updated with colors matching the SOuth Florida theme.
"It really made sense to embrace the cultural colors of South Florida. The Reverse Retro jerseys hit on the things people love and presents them in a new way. It feels different, without it being upsetting. For a long time, we've been waiting for that opportunity to bring [Reverse Retro] to an NHL event and the All-Star Game was the obvious choice.," -Matty Merrill, design director for adidas Hockey
The Arizona Coyotes have revealed a new third look for the team. The new jersey was designed by Coyotes Creative Strategist and Global Fashion Designer Rhuigi Villaseñor. Villaseñor, the founder and creative director of Los Angeles-based streetwear brand Rhude.
THe Burgundy colored jersey features a cursive Arizona in a special sand colorway across the chest. A shooting star dots the i and represents the desert night when Coyotes hunt. The edges of the wordmark has an irregular outline and raw edge meant to emphasizes the rough and raw desert.
The numbers and name bar will be in the sand-color to match the sand-colored Kachina striping on the sleeves and socks. A small geckos is found inside the collar of the jersey, a tribute to the gecko shoulder patch from the Coyotes original green third jersey and the current Reverse Retro jersey. The Coyotes players will wear burgundy helmets and gloves to finish off the look.
"My inspiration for the third jersey came from the environment, the community, the colors, and the clay - roots of the AZ Culture. I feel honored to pioneer with the Coyotes the reimagining of the sport alongside culture and design," - Villaseñor.
The Tampa Bay Lighting have revealed their special ‘Gasparilla’ themed warmup jerseys. This year’s version is a whtie VARIATION of the jersey we saw last season.
The Gasparilla jerseys celebrate the Tampa Bay annual pirate festival. The front of the white jersey features a skull and crossed swords with the Lightings logo in the center. the numbers on the back and sleeves are a pirate themed, finishing off the special look. The USC women’s Basketball team revealed another new uniform option for the season. This special look is a nod to the past with the gold jersey and shorts featuring Cardinal and white STRIPES and pipping. Across the chest of the jersey is the retro Southern Cal script. THis is the second alternate look so far for USC.
The San Antonio FC has released their new 2023 primary kit. The club’s new look is breaking out a black-and-gray striped jersey paired with black shorts and socks.
Manchester City has released a special kit in celebration of the Year of the rabbit. The new kit Pays tribute to the successful mission of China’s Lunar rover, as well as the Jade Rabbit in 2013.
the new jersey has a “Blazing Blue” colorway with gold details meant to mark the successful mission of China's first lunar rover, the Jade Rabbit (Yutu), which explored the surface of the moon as part of China's Chang'e 3 mission in 2013.
The jersey also has a dark-blue moonscape pattern that is a reference to both the lunar calendar and the club's popular anthem "Blue Moon". The finishing touch comes on The back of the neck showcasing a combination of the Manchester City logo and interwoven rabbits.
The Johns Hopkins lacrosse team released a new helmet as they get ready for the 2023 season. The white shell features the cartoon blue Jay on either side along with a blue and black center stripe and the Jays script on the back. A white facemask and blue jaw area complete the new lid for Johns Hopkins.
The NC State Women’s Basketball team has introduced special uniforms that honor the William Neal Reynolds Coliseum. The special threads pays homage to 49 years of special moments on their home court. The white jersey and shorts feature bold red piping throughout. On the front of the jersey is the NC State retro logo in a red circle above the player’s number. running up the sides of the jersey and shorts is subtle pattern that MIMICS the old school light bulbs seen on the Noise Meter. The FINISHING touch adds the WOlfpack script on the bottom of the left leg of the shorts.
The TCU Horned Frogs have revealed their uniform combo for the National Championship matchup vs the Georgia Bulldogs. TCu will go with their black helmets that feature the oversized Horned Frog logo on the left side of the helmet with purple chrome facemasks. The black helmet will be paired with the TCU white jersey and black pants to finish off the National Championship look.
The Utah Men’s Basketball team has revealed special white throwback threads. The all white jersey and shorts combo features the retro Runnin’ Utes on the front above and below the player’s number. The official Utah logo appears on the left leg of the shorts. Red trim finishes off the Throwback look for the Utes.
