In honor of Memorial Day Bryce Harper will take the field wearing these special cleats. The cleats have been designed, drawing inspiration from dazzle camo, a family of ship camouflage used extensively during World War I, and meant to honor the World War I Soldiers. The Dazzle camos purpose is to draw attention with patterns that made it difficult to decipher a ship’s range speed and heading. The insole of the design has a visualization of the poppy flower and a universal symbol of remembrance inspired by the poem “In Flanders Field,” written by Lt. Col John McCrae.
This will be the first time we see Bryce Harper debut of the new UA Harper 4 cleats on the field.
In honor of Father’s Day the MLB will rock these special caps. The caps will feature a tie-dye design in a powder blue colorway. Each team’s cap will feature their logo and brim of the hat in one of the team’s colors to add a splash on top of the blue tie-dye.
The Reds have rolled out their 1912 throwback uniform for their game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The retro look comes with a cream colored cap, jersey, and pants. The old school cap has a cream crown with a red visor and pinstripes around the top. Located on the front of the cap is an early version of the team’s famous “wishbone-C”. We see no logo on the front of the 1912 Reds uniform, just red piping around the collar and alongside the half-button down the chest. On the sleeves there is a red retro C and on the backs retro numbers to match the font of the C. The Reds will keep turning back the clock and wearing different retro uniforms the remainder of the year.
