The Utah Utes are turning back the clocks this week with a special throwback uniform. The uniform is a nod to the 1966 and 1967 teams that are the only other teams until now to wear the exact same uniform. The team will hit the field in the silver helmet and pants combo for the first time in 50 years. The silver helmet is hand painted and features the interlocking U’s on each side. These throwback helmets are modeled after the helmets the Utes wore during 1966-1967, and feature hand-painted grass stains and battle scars giving them that midseason wear and tear look.
The red retro jerseys will have the arched “UTES” wordmark on each shoulder. The same wordmark will be found on the palms of the gloves to tie in the throwback theme throughout the uniform.
