Notre Dame football has revealed their 2019 alternate uniform design. To commemorate the celebration of 150 years of college football, the team will wear a unique throwback uniform that references a key moment in the team’s history. The uniform is based on the classic design that was worn by the 1988 Fighting Irish National Championship team. We see the jersey feature the mesh inspired number pattern, helping deliver that old school feel. Along with details on the gloves being inspired by the campus quad.
“To celebrate college football’s 150th anniversary and to give nod to one of the greatest teams ever to take the field, this year’s heritage uniform honors Notre Dame’s undefeated 1988 season. With a perfect 12-0 mark and a National Championship, the 1988 Fighting Irish team epitomizes what every team strives for each season – perfection.” - Nick Billiris, Senior Design Director of Team Sports at Under Armour
