Air Force will honor the Tuskegee Airmen with their 2020 Air Power Legacy Series uniform. The special APLS uniform is a grey base uni with black lettering and numbers. The shoulders of the jersey will honor the 332nd by having the spitfire patch with a yellow stripe above it to mirror that of the wings of the P-51 mustang. On the backs of the jerseys will be a custom nameplate that was inspired by the hand-lettered names painted on the sides of the P-51 aircrafts. The pants have an authentic stenciled “information graphic” on the right side, while the left side of the pants has 20 silhouettes of the CIC trophy, to honor the championships Air Force has won. On the palms of the gloves we see the Spitfire Patch that pays homage to the 332nd squadron.
The helmets feature a chrome base grey with a red front, drawing their inspiration from the P-51 aircraft flown by the Tuskegee Airmen that had the signature red tail and nose. The helmets will have four different squadron patches on them, honoring the the 99th, 100th, 301st and 302nd.
