Orlando Magic 2023 City Edition Uniform
Orlando Magic unveil the latest iteration of their Nike NBA City Edition uniform, continuing their legacy of recognizing and celebrating the unique spirit of the team and the vibrant city of Orlando. The new uniform pays homage to the Magic's 35th anniversary season and embodies the city's story as a kingdom on the rise.
The new City Edition uniform proudly sports the bold wordmark “Orlando” across the chest, signifying the team's unwavering connection with the city. In a nostalgic twist, the uniform features an iconic retro star in place of the “A,” a tribute to the team's historic uniform roots. The striking all-blue design is embellished with subtle metallic gray accents, symbolizing a suit of armor, reflecting the team's resilience and determination in their battles on the court.
The chosen gothic font in the "Orlando" wordmark not only honors the city but also pays homage to the devoted fans, symbolizing the team's spirited battles and unwavering commitment to its loyal sixth man. This design theme echoes the Magic's ongoing fight, embodying the pride and resilience of both players and fans, portraying the journey of a kingdom continually ascending.
The eagerly awaited Nike NBA City Edition uniform will make its on-court debut during the 2023-24 Magic season at the November 6 game when the Dallas Mavericks visit Orlando. These special uniforms will grace the court during 10 home games this season, including the team's In-Season Tournament matches. The Amway Center will also undergo a transformation, aligning with the uniform's narrative, creating a fresh atmosphere in the Magic's home arena.
Now in its seventh season, the Nike NBA City Edition Uniforms have been meticulously crafted to reflect and celebrate the distinctive stories, histories, and heritage of each franchise. This initiative aims to honor the deep connection between the court, community, and culture that shape the identity of each team.
The newly unveiled uniform follows the team's previous Nike NBA City Edition uniforms, notably featuring an orange-themed design from 2019 to 2022, representing Orlando's association with sunshine and citrus.
This unveiling marks the fifth and final uniform in the Magic's collection this season. Alongside the Nike NBA City Edition, the team's wardrobe includes the Nike NBA Statement (blue), Icon (black), Association (white), and the recently unveiled Classic Edition (blue) uniforms. Each uniform was developed through a collaborative effort between the team, its players, the NBA, and Nike.
