In celebration of BYU's 100th season of college football in 2024, the Cougars will don special throwback jerseys from their memorable 1996 Cotton Bowl season when they host Kansas State to kick off Big 12 Conference play. The highly anticipated game will take place on Saturday, September 21, at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
BYU will take the field wearing white jerseys with royal blue trim and black drop shadows, replicating the iconic uniforms worn by the Steve Sarkisian-led Cougars in 1996. These jerseys will be paired with all-white pants, mirroring the no-stripe style of the original uniforms.
As part of the 100th season celebrations, BYU will honor the 1996 team during the game against Kansas State. Fans can look forward to a variety of events and activities that will allow them to celebrate and reminisce over the rich history and tradition of Cougar football. These festivities will run throughout the 2024 season, which kicks off on August 31 against Southern Illinois at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
