"The first thing is, just really appreciative of all the people that invested to create this and the leadership to execute it. I think it's one of the unique things about the University of Florida. We've got the resources, the people who care and have passion. The University of Florida impacted the direction of their lives; they care about the place and are willing to give back. It's been a long road here. So many people contributed. Just really blessed and humbled. It's truly a day I think that we'll look back on and say, 'man, that really made a difference.' We're very grateful. The game is about the players. It's great to see that initial reaction." Gators Head Coach Napier
The UVA Cavaliers have released their helmet designs for the upcoming season. The design turns the clock back and goes to the classic style we had seen years ago for Virginia in the 80s and 90s. The navy helmet has ditched the orange and white stripes down the middle, that we saw on the helmet last season. The V Saber logo is now on both sides of the helmet again.
The white helmet has done away with the player numbers on the side and will just have the V Saber logo along with the orange and blue center stripe. This will give the Cavaliers a few options to mix and match with their jersey and pants combos throughout the season.

The team released four different looks that they will take the field in giving WKU a good amount of helmet setups to choose from. The team showed off a red chrome mask with multiple different decals and center stripe options, including the chrome WKU Towel decals, Tops script and a retro WKU Bowl logo. The Hilltoppers will also have a white facemask option with the Tops scrip in white outlined in red and a red and white center stripe. The Hawaii Football team has redesigned their helmets as they head into the 2022-23 football season. The center stripe of the helmet will feature feathers as the Manawa to pay tribute to the Hawaii warriors and chiefs. The Hawaii logo will be on the side with special Hulu Moa (chicken feather) helmet merit decals that will be earned by players during the season. White merit stickers will be given to defensive players and black for the offensive players. This is a nod to King Kamehameha’s white and black stones, which represented being on the offensive or defensive in battle. The finishing touch comes on the left side by the ear hole of the helmet with the island chain decal.
“I would love for the connection to be about place and representation of identity. Our identity is exclusively tied to this place being kanaka, being local. To be able to share that same intimate idea and concept of ali’i and aarrior and the moa and their fierce competitiveness and how they fought on the battlefield. This is the same representation that we hope that these kids are feeling when they’re out there. I’m a warrior and we’re going to go out into different parts of America and represent this place with our stories. I think that’s incredibly powerful.” - Oahu’s Keola Rapozo, co-creator and owner of Fitted Hawaii
